The hinged vertical spindle attachment was designed at the request of customers in the food industry to handle rolls of film and foil in a clean room environment.
The packaging machine is located in a confined space with limited access to the rolls and loading refreshment spindles.
The customized vertical spindle features a hinged mechanism for easy access and side loading of processing equipment in confined spaces. The hinged attachment allows the vertical spindle with rolls to be turned to the left or right instead of the machine itself.
The manual hinge mechanism allows the attachment to be indexed from left to right, allowing the operator to easily rotate the attachment 90 degrees to either side for loading onto packaging machinery. During transport, the vertical spindle is held in the center position by a pin-stop release.
This lifting solution offers manual rotation and manual gripping mechanisms, as well as motorized lifting and lowering capabilities.
The ergonomic handle on the vertical spindle attachment allows the operator to easily rotate the reel from vertical to horizontal.
The handwheel provides the reel gripping and releasing action. The reel is firmly clamped by the core. The unit is fitted with a torque limiter so that the clamping fingers do not over or under tighten the core. This allows the operator to lift the reel with complete confidence and safety.
The attachment is made of stainless steel and is perfectly suited to food, pharmaceutical and other hygienic applications.
